School Lunch Hero Recognition
Thank you to everyone who joined in celebrating National School Lunch Hero Day last week. The recognition for our more than 200 SFUSD Dining Staff was extra important this year. They have remained committed to finding new ways to meet the need of feeding San Francisco’s children:
Grab & Go meal sites remain open across the city serving bags of food for the week
Healthy lunch and snacks are offered daily to students attending school in-person
Door to door delivery is serving over 300 distance learners

All together we have provided over 6.5 million meals to San Francisco’s children since the pandemic!

“I am thoroughly pleased to learn that SFUSD has such a program for the students, especially during these uncertain times. I was very happy to volunteer where I met and worked with some wonderful people. I’m looking forward to volunteering again.” – SNS Grab & Go Volunteer, Spring 2021
